Elmer O. Stennes, Weymouth, Mass., "Rocking Ship" tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven movement in a cherry case with inlaid decoration of potted plant flanking lower trunk door, reeded corner columns with walnut inlay flanking both trunk and hood and Roxbury fretwork on hood with painted metal dial, c1968
CONDITION:
the clock is in excellent original condition with a shrinkage split in front base skirt and left side of fretwork split at the top with a small piece of veneer absent and right side missing small portion of fretwork. There is an excellent label for Bailey, Banks & Biddle, Philadelphia, PA on inside of trunk door. As explained in the BBB label, the movement is an old English one, restored for the Stennes case.
